Sometimes our loved ones just need a little help. At SummitWest Care, our compassionate, non-medical in home care services team can help with day-to-day tasks, caregiver training and homemaking services through Medicaid programs, private insurances and private pay.

In-Home Support Services (IHSS) is a Medicaid sponsored program that provides care, training and resources to assist family members and friends with the proper at-home care needed for elderly, disabled, or children with disabilities. Contact our team about our training programs and resources for your family.

CNA Parent Program

Get paid to provide care for your family member through Medicaid. The “Parent as CNA Program” is unique to Colorado Medicaid and allows family members (not just parents) to become a caregiver for their loved ones based on medical necessity. Colorado Respite Coalition- Support, Education and Connection for Caregivers

Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation- The Early Childhood Mental Health Support Line is a no-cost, confidential resource for anyone who cares for children under six. The support line can help you to better understand and support the well-being of the young children in your care, including children who may currently be struggling.

Colorado National Family Caregiver Support Program-   The National Family Caregiver Support Program (NFCSP) was created during the reauthorization of the Older Americans Act in 2000. The goal of the NFCSP is to provide services to caregivers providing assistance to older adults, as well as grandparents over age 60 raising grandchildren.

  1. Information to caregivers about available services
  2. Assistance to caregivers in gaining access to supportive services
  3. Individual counseling, organization of support groups, and caregiver training to assist the caregivers in making decisions and solving problems relating to their caregiving roles
  4. Respite care to enable caregivers to be temporarily relieved from their caregiving responsibilities
  5. Supplemental services, on a limited basis, to complement the assistance provided by caregivers, including:
    • Home modifications
    • Assistive technologies
    • Emergency response systems
    • Equipment/supplies
